Cynvenio Biosystems is a start-up focused on advancing the vision of personalized medicine by developing high performance instruments and assays for cancer research. Our sample handling and cell sorting technology enables the work of organizations focusing on diagnostics and the discovery and validation of novel therapeutic solutions.
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on translating our diagnostics assays into field-deployable instruments. Specifically, the successful candidate will be the focal point for designing a series of electromechanical fluidic handling systems that will process disposable cartridges quickly and efficiently either at core labs or directly at the point of care.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a MS or equivalent in Material Science, Surface, Physical or Analytical Chemistry, or Chemical or Bio-Engineering, 5-7 years of industrial product development experience, and a management track record of leading small technical teams.
- A proven knowledge of fluidic design, and mechanical systems outside the academic environment
- Proven expertise in Solidworks modeling and design control
- A successful track record in working on teams that produced successful products in the life sciences industry
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as six sigma
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and multitasking ability across multiple scientific disciplines
- The desire to be part of a fast-paced dynamic development environment
